SCIENCE
Philosophy Statement: The Science Department of TLS aims impart God’s truths. Instruction is done with an emphasis on Creation, God as our Creator and the Controller of the universe.  Science emphasizes a hands - on approach to study the world God created and redeemed.  Students will focus on how God supports and preserves the world for the benefit of humanity.

His created universe will be comprehensively explored. God has eternal power and science helps us see the orderliness, beauty and precision in the natural world. Faculty integrate God’s Word into hands on labs, real world adventures and even technology.

Academy science students use an integrated approach to science. General science is a foundation with a focus on key areas in earth, physical, life sciences for each grade level.  A strong emphasis is placed on inquiry based learning and engaging hands on labs.

Our state of the art science lab has been transformed into a STEM LAB (science, technology, engineering, and math) and students have 1:1 computing with Chromebooks during class.

Students may participate in dissections, Robotics, building electric cars, computer coding, and use computer applications to gather, interpret, and report data.  Labs will include lab reports where student learn to report their findings using a variety of computer applications.

We use a Christian Schools International Science Curriculum in addition to other high quality supplemental resources.
