Young adolescent or the middle years can be a time of physical, spiritual, and emotional change. The curriculum at TLS recognizes this unique stage. We understand the increased need for organization and study skills, time management and abstract thinking.
Through a series of Christian Leadership units, exploratory classes as well as solid instruction in the core subject areas, students are afforded varied opportunities in the arts, health, and science, technology, Latin, engineering, and math.
Grade levels 5-8 have a targeted focus on a Christian leadership which operates as a common thread in courses. Fifth grade focuses on teamwork, sixth uses relationship, and seventh fosters stewardship, and eighth grade embeds truth through Apologetics. These leadership skills are interdependent.
Bible teachings, daily devotions, and weekly chapels teach Scriptural principles and values necessary for the development of godly character. Students will put their faith into action through local and global service opportunities. Students will help create Christian service announcements, write scripts and video messages for our TLS Broadcasting Network.
Other new experiences include sports in a variety of areas. As students move through the middle years, increased opportunities to participate in the more competitive teams become available. Opportunities such as the Student Council Association, Chapel Leadership Team, or the TLS Tech Team allow students to exercise leadership skills. Furthermore, leadership training integrated into each grade level.
"Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen."
